Richly soft and well-loved, this classic fabric is either handwoven or machine-made. Machine-made velvet is double-faced, meaning that two fabrics are woven together, face to face, joined by the weft yarns. These yarns are then cut automatically, which forms the signature soft pile on both faces.

What are Printed Velvets?
As opposed to many fabrics where the pattern is created during the weave, printed patterns are applied later. After the soft pile is created and the velvet is formed, the printing can begin. There are a few different methods ranging from digital printing, screen-printing, or using heat. No matter the craft, this plush material can be printed upon using different colors and patterns, all while maintaining a lush and luxurious feel.
