Last week our design team took a trip to NeoCon to gather inspiration and see emerging design trends for this year in interior design at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. With over 400 exhibitors at The Mart, as well as many more in Fulton Market for Design Days, our team had plenty of products and brands to spark their creativity.
What is NeoCon?
NeoCon, held annually in Chicago, is one of the largest and most influential events in the commercial interior design industry. NeoCon has become a premier destination for designers and industry professionals to discover the latest trends and innovative products since it was started in 1969.
Trendspotting
This season, we noticed two design trends that took center stage: jewel tones and modular furniture. Exhibitors showcased a vibrant color palette featuring rich hues like emerald greens, amethyst purples, and deep sapphire blues. These colors were used in various applications from plush seating and pillows, to floral arrangements and accent pieces, adding depth to each showroom.

The resurgence of jewel tones reflects the recent desire to move away from the neutral color palette that has dominated in recent years. Now, designers are embracing these saturated hues because of their versatility - working well in both traditional and modern settings. Our Esmeralda and Esmeraude bed sets both feature beautiful jewel-toned accents.

Modular furniture being a standout trend highlights its growing importance in modern interior design. This furniture style offers flexibility and functionality, making it ideal for dynamic work environments. Exhibitors showcased a wide range of modular designs in their furniture. This trend helps highlight a shift towards more versatile and sustainable design practices, allowing people to maximize their space while maintaining a stylish aesthetic.
