The end of 2023 is just around the corner—and what a year it’s been! From tradeshows to trunkshows, it’s been a busy twelve months here in the world of Eastern Accents. As the holiday season approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you—our cherished customers, vendors, and friends—for being a part of our community. It wouldn’t be the same without you. We’d also like to take a moment to reflect back on some of the moments that made 2023 so special.
Textile travels
Inspiration came from near and far as we traveled the world while developing new products. In January, our co-owner Siw and creative director Lousie went on a fabric-finding mission to Heimtextil. This Frankfurt-based textile show is one of the highlights of our calendar; an opportunity to discover the latest trends and most innovative designs from around the world. But that wasn’t the end of their adventure! Siw and Lousie also made a stop in ever-influential London. Strolling through gardens, enjoying afternoon tea, and browsing gallery upon gallery—they returned from Europe full of creative inspiration.

In the spring, veteran Eastern Accents designer Pam went on another adventure of discovery. Only this time, she traveled to India, on the lookout for traditional crafts, handmade techniques, and extraordinary one-of-a-kind textiles.

A love letter to Chicago
This Valentine’s Day, we showed our love for our beautiful city. As any longtime Eastern Accents follower will know, we are so proud to be Chicago born and bred. We manufacture right here in the Windy City, and our offices, photo studio, design facilities, and all other departments are located onsite; our factory is truly the heart and soul of the company. So this February we wrote a love letter, of sorts, to the city itself. Our very talented (and always-fabulous) design partner Alexa Hampton joined us in sponsoring an exclusive dining experience on our factory floor. Our cut-and-sew facilities were reimagined with flowing textile art and glowing chandeliers; and a select group of inspiring local designers gathered to celebrate this wonderful city and industry.

Location, Location, Location
2023 has been a busy year on the road! You may have seen our bedding in McHenry County, on the banks of the Mississippi, or even in Joshua Tree National Park… because we have been traveling. Our photography department has been capturing jaw-dropping on-location promotional photography, and proving that there really is nothing like the real thing.
But we were able to create a little bit of photo magic in-house too. In October we got in touch with our spooky side with Haunt Couture… a Halloween promotional event celebrating the dark and stormy side of our line. And in August we all agreed that nothing could capture the joy of our Wilder kids’ collection like the pitter-patter of little feet. Little Emil was the perfect model for this jungle-themed photoshoot.

On the Road Again
Tradeshows have always been the backbone of our business. Not only do our beautiful home textiles products truly need to be felt and seen in person to be believed… but we are a people-centered business. We thrive on connecting with all of our clients, vendors, and other industry partners. Whether you are our furniture buyer or the vendor across the hall, everyone is welcome at Eastern Accents for a little chat and a little sangria.
This April, we returned to our legendary High Point Market showroom with an array of new introductions in tow. New fine linens, luxury throws, and more stole the show. But our highlight of April High Point Market 2023 was our Casbah Couture event with design partner Barclay Butera. Barclay teamed up with our designers to create a stunning one-of-a-kind bedding collection, crafted from handcrafted textiles sourced from around the globe. The exclusive bed was raffled to a lucky winner, with proceeds going to the wonderful YWCA of High Point.
October High Point saw more bedding and reunions of course—-and some unforgettable escapades with designer Thom Filicia! During his Get into Bed with Thom event, visitors were invited to sip on signature cocktails and cozy up for a photo with the man himself.

Trendsetting new categories
Cubes, pyramids, tambourines, neckrolls… Studio 773 unveiled an array of fun decorative pillows in all shapes and sizes. Crafted from colorful velvet with contrasting welts, these new Shapes pillows create endless possibilities. Finally, things have been bright and merry here at Eastern Accents, with a host of new holiday-themed items putting us all into a festive mood. For the first time in many years, our offerings now include seasonal table runners, tree skirts, and stockings—in addition to new decorative pillows to suit every aesthetic this holiday season.
